Tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Aimee and I’m from Dublin. By day I work as an administrator, and by night I am a full time blogger at Primal Piggy, (budding) CrossFit/weightlifting athlete, community manager for The Health Bloggers Community and a promoter of how to live an all-round healthier and happier lifestyle!
What inspired you to start your blog?
I discovered CrossFit almost 5 years ago, and it completely changed my life for the better. It’s not just about a diet change or losing weight in my eyes, but finding self-love again by adapting a better lifestyle is so important to me. With my blog I want to inspire people, and teach them that being healthy doesn’t have to be difficult and nourishing; healthy food can be made on a budget just like everyday meals. The cooking/baking side of blogging is like therapy to me, it’s where I can totally switch off and just enjoy being creative.
What’s the best advise you’ve ever been given?
To not be afraid of failure, experience everything you can and if that doesn’t work out, move on. Without failure there is no success, so take even the bad moments as a lesson learned. (And always wear sunscreen, very important!)
Favourite Health Rule?
I tend not to make rules or restrictions but I think everyone should include a rainbow of foods in their diet and try to only eat foods that are fresh and in season.
What’s your fave post on your blog?
I’d say a piece entitled “Seeking Perfection” as it was really personal to me and I felt I really opened up about my own personal journey. I got lots of great feedback from it, and it was great knowing that I helped people with their own body image issues.
